do you ever do any AKC obed. trials with him or just Hunt? Say if you wanted to teach both would it be to confusing for the dog with the hunt training when they retrieve and bring the object to heel and then do obed. and then bring the object to front? or would you use two different comands for the retrieve?

Hints that she is getting close to potty training:
She is staying dry longer. She is waking up from naps dry. She is telling you when she wants her diaper changed.

When you do start to potty train it is best if you go to underwear instead of using pullups. You can use pullups at night until you start to night train her. Allow her to pick out the underwear and the potty chair if she is going to use one instead of the big potty.

I have helped to potty train many little girls in daycare. One thing I found that worked was to give stickers to the ones who used the potty. The children in my daycare class love the stickers and enjoy showing them to their parents when they pick them up.

When I potty trained my two children they both loved getting stickers. We also made a big deal about them using the potty. We would sing and even call grandma when they would use the potty.

Use this time to bond with your daughter when you do start to potty train. Before you begin go ahead and get a visual picture in your mind of her being potty trained. Understand the feeling of having a completely potty trained daughter. When you understand this feeling it will help if you start to feel frustrated.

My Pediatrician told me that since our daughter (3&half) is resisting potty training we need to introduce "peer pressure". This means having her around kids her age who are already potty trained and give her a "I want to be a big kid too" attitude instead of this "no way, no how" attitude she has taken. So far we are getting better response, but mostly on "peer pressure" days.

Good luck.

The best way to is to create a reward system with your childs favorite candy such as M&Ms or skittles and do this for 7 days. Also, have a large prize for the 7th day. See: http://www.ehow.com/how_4497167_potty-train-child-week.html for more details.

i hate to say it but i think this might be a bit young, my son just turned 3 and potty trained straight to the toilet no potty, my daughter turned 2 on sunday and did it better and quicker much easier to handle, just remember, once the nappy comes off it stays off except at night, dont make the mistake of using pull ups or training pants, take her to the supermarket and let her pick some big girl pants herself and then stand back and wait for the accidents! it is a good idea to have 2 potties one upstairs and one downstairs have them in diffrent colous and put them in the bathroom, (this helps them not reject any other toilets later) take her to the bathroom with you when you go for a wee and talk her through it, (mummy needs a wee wee mummy is pulling her pants down, now we wipe and flush the loo etc) get her to sit on her potty and copy you, this is the preperation stage getting her ready and it is fine for it to last a few months. Always buy her pants at least 1 size too big as it will help her to pull them up and down, for the first few days leave her bottom half naked, this does mean you should plan it for a time when you have a few days at home with no big exciting or long trips. Please dont tell her off if she has an accident, teach her the consequences by making her help you clean it this might just be to put her wet pants in the wash etc (they dont like that probably more than being told off) also have two buckets around diffrent colous and fill them with detergent, much easier than running a wash every hour lol, keep it away from your baby girl though! try to allow her to choose a very special cushoin to put in the car seat and you add a plastic carrier etc under the cover to keep it a bit drier. Lastly we found a starchart and skittles (sweets) helped a star and 1 skittle for every wee or poopie in the potty or toilet, we wound it down to only for poopie and then one sweet for a whole day with no accidents and now no sweets at all but still doing the star chart. Hope all this will help you! i recommend the potty training in one week book by gina ford thats where i got the tips from and it worked really well but just be warned she does say in the that if you potty train too early they are much more likely to regress and have accidents later on, whatever you decide though good luck, trust me i know how hard it is lol but with enough persweverance and time you will (and she will) crack it xx

Don't really even try now the best age is 2 and half.Your daughter will learn faster and will not feel pressure.Use pull ups and don't worry about it.Children learn quicker with less PRESSURE.Take her to the potty for fun for about a year.Since she can't talk very well right now you can teach her hand signals so she can tell you when she's ready.I waited until my daughter was 2 almost 3 started potty training and she was trained and even putting herself and wiping herself by 3 and half.

That's what puppy's do. It's better the he chews the training pads than your furniture. He'll grow out of it.
